A Journey is a series of questions users will answer about their interests, habits or preferences to discover either a personality-driven result or a recommendation tailored for them.
Let's go over the different elements in a journey.
Results
In a Journey, we start with the results. These are the end pages that your audience will reach, so we can create multiple possibilities.
The results should be as broad as possible and make sense to the majority of your users. Ensure you offer value for taking part in it. It could be a reward, a meaningful insight, or intriguing content.
Elaborate on the personality of the person that reached each result.
For example: If you asked "Which plant are you?". The personality traits need to be recognizable for most people. The result might say: "You’re a tough one, but there’s nothing you love more than soaking up the sun - just like a cactus."
Include an action element in each result to ensure engagement. A call to action button is useful if you want to see conversions, whereas a form should be used if your goal is subscription. There is also the option to showcase a range of items in a products gallery, where each can be linked to separate URLs. Be sure to make it eye-catching to encourage your audience to interact.
Questions
We recommend creating 3-5 questions, which should include a variety of picture and text-based answers, although you can add as many as you like.
Each answer to every question will then need matching to one or more results (which is why you write them first).
Click Match results and think about how the answer directly relates to each of the results you’ve created. Use the slider to select from four levels of relevance; 0, 1, 2, and Blocked.
The more relevant a particular result is, the more likely a user will be to end with that selection, so the options you apply here will be used to calculate a relevant journey path for the user.
If a user chooses an answer that should never lead to a particular result, this is where Blocked prevents that from happening.
To check how your selections are working, click Preview at the top of the page.
