Direct Integration with SpotX

We are happy to announce an integration between the Cedato Player and SpotX Direct SDK.

This integration enables to connect with Demand partners who buy media through the SpotX platform in a way that's easier than ever before.
We have added a new type of Demand item on Cedato, named SpotX Direct. This Demand uses a Channel ID instead of the known URL-tag. A Channel ID is a number denoting the Demand source on the SpotX Platform. It eliminates the need for macros and provides a more reliable channel thanks to the deep and direct integration between the SpotX and Cedato platform.

Cedato customers who have a seat on SpotX should approach their SpotX Account Manager to get access to the new integration using the Channel ID.
On the Cedato Dashboard, all you have to do is add a new Demand (Manage->Demand->Add) type 'SpotX Direct' (Demand > Demand Type > SpotX Direct) and enter the Channel ID provided by SpotX.

All the rest is done the same as any other Demand item, including setting CPM, Restrictions, Targeting, assigning it to Supply etc. There is no need to limit the Ad Requests on this type of Demand as our player will communicate directly and fully automatically with the SpotX SDK.

To be able to start working using the new integration, an audit in SpotX needs to be passed. Detailed instructions on configuring the Supply for working with SpotX Direct, can be found here.

Platform API New Reports and Supply/Demand Items Configuration

We are introducing today another significant improvement to our Platform API functionality.

Additional reports are now available. Such reports that are available through the use of the API and are not provided through the Dashboard. A table displaying the new reports and a mapping between the Dashboard and API reports for easier handling is presented here.

Furthermore we have added the ability to make configuration changes of Demand and Supply items through the Cedato Platform API. This enables our partners to react to changes in their traffic in an automated way and to improve their results. The automation fastens the process of configuration and reduces mistakes made during manual application.

In-Content Unit/ Ad Player Unit

Cedato’s Out-Stream Ad Units Portfolio provides an easy way to use and customize Cedato smart video player. The portfolio offers a framework for rapidly deploying a customized native video advertising experiences and innovative ways to engage with viewers, maximizing inventory supply, engagement and results.

In-content video ads are placed within standard web page content and articles or within a list of content items (“In Feed”). An auto-play video ad is smoothly displayed as the user scrolls through the page on desktop or mobile, responsively adapting its size to the actual viewing screen and proportions. Engagement can be further enhanced by initiating sound or additional actions upon mouse-hover.

The Native units appear in the form of simple JS tags, are easy to implement and do not require code writing capabilities.

  • The In-Content Unit is not visible until 50% (by default but can be adjusted) of its expected height is in the viewable screen and can be configured to get hidden once it finishes playing.

Improved 'Content Image' - new Poster functionality

We improved the functionality of our feature 'Content image', found under Supply (type HTML) > Content tab > Content Image.

In Click-To-Play scenarios, the image which is configured under 'Content image' input field, is displayed when the Cedato Video Player is loaded on the webpage and before the user clicks on the 'play' button.

This improved functionality allows our partners to comply with the requirements from their publishers who require a poster to be displayed after the player loaded on the publisher's website.

Whitelist/Blacklist

We optimized the integration of uploaded White- /Blacklist. The Lists are applied to the traffic within several minutes after the upload to the Cedato Dashboard.
