The Canvas is a great tool to convey a simple message to your audience.

Like its name suggests, we start with a blank canvas to produce an image created from a variety of templates and sizes, and overlay this with text and interactive items. From promotional messages and announcements, to content highlights or paywall entry graphics, this can be utilized in so many different ways.

  • Consider where your Canvas will be used. Does it fit into a square space on a website (“in-page”), or perhaps it’s overlaid in a vertical rectangular format (“over page”)? Select a shape and size that best fits your needs.

  • There are a number of templates available for you to select and edit, or you can choose ‘Image Only’ to start from scratch with an image of your choice.

  • Play around with the format using the available tools. Change background colors and add text. Add other images and crop into different shapes. No design skills are required, and you can always click preview at the top of the page to get an idea of how the item will look.

  • Be sure to add a CTA to encourage interaction, and redirect users to a relevant location on your website.

  • There is also the option to add any disclaimers or supporting information in the ‘Description’ field at the base of the canvas.
