Overview
The contextual matching feature allows you to manage and optimize video recommendations based on content freshness. This guide will walk you through the setup and management of contextual matching on the playlists page.
How to access Contextual Matching

Navigate to the playlists page:
- On the playlists page, you will see a list of all your playlists.

Per playlist management:
- Each playlist has an option to see if contextual matching is turned on and to toggle it on or off.

How to enable Contextual Matching

Turn on the Toggle:
- Click on the toggle switch next to the playlist to turn on contextual matching.
- This action opens a pop-up window with contextual matching settings.
Contextual Matching settings
When the toggle is clicked, the popup provides options for content freshness settings. You can select between Recency or Video History Feed and combine both.
1. Recency
Choose the timeframe for selecting videos, ensuring the model matches content from the specified period.
- All Time: Includes all videos regardless of their upload date.
- Last 7 Days: Considers videos uploaded in the last 7 days.
- Last 14 Days: Considers videos uploaded in the last 14 days.
- Last 30 Days: Considers videos uploaded in the last 30 days.
2. History feed
Select the number of latest videos from the playlist source to be considered for recommendations.
- Last 50: Includes the last 50 videos uploaded to the playlist.
- Last 75: Includes the last 75 videos uploaded to the playlist.
- Last 100: Includes the last 100 videos uploaded to the playlist.
- Last 200: Includes the last 200 videos uploaded to the playlist.
Important note
The refinement pop-up is available for all playlist types, excluding static playlists, as their videos do not update automatically or change.
