You can create external playlists as XML feeds populated with videos from your hosted media library on EX.CO. These playlists can be tailored based on specific content criteria, such as media categories or tags, and can also be configured to prioritize content recency.

How to activate it?

An External XML feeds via the EX.CO CDN is a paid service at $0.3/GB for CDN Streaming.
Your approval of the above fee will be required to make it available for your account usage.

Setting Up External XML Playlists

  1. Generate an external playlist (XML feed):
At the top of your content management interface, click the "Create" button and choose "Generate XML". This opens a window where you’ll configure the XML feed.

  2. Name the playlist:
Assign a descriptive name to the feed so you can easily recognize it later.

  3. Select video recency:
Choose how recent the videos in the feed should be (e.g., last 24 hours, last 7 days, last 14 days, last 30 days).

  4. Define the feed’s content driver:
Pick a metadata driver (such as specific categories or tags) to determine which videos are included in the feed.

  5. Choose categories or tags as filters:
Select one or more media categories or video tags to refine your playlist content. You can also combine multiple criteria (for example, multiple categories and tags simultaneously) to ensure the feed only includes precisely the videos you want.

  6. Generate and retrieve the feed URL:
Once your choices are made, generate the XML feed. You will then receive a unique XML URL. This URL can be used in any account you wish to supply with these curated videos.
